Project Description
The homeowner-builder, Patrick, had owned the home for a long time before starting renovations. He had a good idea of what he wanted to achieve. His top priority was to add a detached garage/work shop out back with a guest studio upstairs, permitted as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). However, the existing home size would need to be increased to achieve this goal. Local zoning laws required that the new building square footage be limited to half the size of the home. Since the existing home was small and set far back from the street, the home owner decided on a front addition as step one. This would increase the square footage of the home enough to allow a future ADU in the back of the property. It would also create a spacious primary bedroom and living room and a fresh new look from the street. The front addition project is currently under construction. Stay tuned for photography!
